Whether it be an outdoor terrace or indoor living room, your Guests will highly appreciate a presentable Viewing area. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean you need to rebuild your home or get a fancy revamp – just keep it neat and tidy. Having a welcoming environment will add value to your property, may boost your ratings and, more importantly, impress your Guests.

Unsure of where to begin? We’ve gathered a few simple tips to help you on your way to become a superstar-Host!

Keep your property clean

Back to the simple basics: make sure your property is clean and hygienic - especially the areas that Guests will walk through and spend time in. Before each booking, walk through those areas to ensure floors and surfaces are clean, there’s good ventilation, and that your furniture is arranged as you intended. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are all facing, hygiene is even more important. The safety of our Hosts and Guests is of utmost priority, which is why we have a dedicated COVID-19 Safety and Awarenesspage on our website; we strongly urge you to read it.

Personalize

Every home has its own character, just like its owner. Becoming a Host on Viewnary doesn’t require you to invest in renovations or strip your property bare. The cliché “just be yourself” is completely applicable here: given that your viewing area is neat and clean, feel free to keep or add personal touches, whether it be unique pieces of furniture, paintings, or even your favorite (silly) doormat.

Be your own Guest

Sometimes the best way to judge something is by trying it yourself and/or having a trusted person do it. Being a Host is no different. Simply walk through your property step-by-step as your Guests would. While doing so, take a look around and see which areas need to be in good shape for your Guests. If your main viewing area is a terrace, for example, pay particular attention to what first impression it gives. It doesn’t hurt to let a friend, family member, or even your neighbor get a first-hand experience as if they were Guests themselves.
